About The Artist
Dr. Jayant is an independent artist and music producer hailing from the western state of India. He dedicates himself to Rock n’ Roll, Blues, Country and Folk style of music. An Orthopaedic Surgeon by profession, he has been playing music for the last 20 years. His work includes Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Harmonica, Keyboard, Lead Vocals and Vocal Harmony. Till 2019, he had his own band in Pune called ‘The Blues River Band’. The band performed and won various competitions at some of the top medical and engineering colleges of Pune. Since the winter of 2023, Dr. Jayant started recording and producing his own music at his home studio. He has been an inspiration to many artists and musicians throughout his journey and continues to work in that direction.
A Brief History
In the summer of 2003, Dr. Jayant began learning guitar in his hometown at Saxena Music Classes, Kota. Mr. Saxena Sir, a popular name in Kota city, taught him the basics of music and the instrument. After a few years in 2008, Dr. Kumar moved to Pune to join the prestigious B.J. Medical College. It was in Pune during his college years, that he got exposed to Blues and Rock N’ Roll music. He formed his own band called ‘THE BLUES RIVER BAND’ with his colleagues and the band performed at various college festivals including ‘Silhouette’, the annual cultural, sports & literary fest organised by the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. Dr. Kumar and his band won many awards for their performance during his college days.
About The Company
Dr. Jayant found the ‘HOME MUSIC PRODUCTION’ company during the winter of 2023 with the view of recording and producing studio quality music at minimal expense. The company produces English songs, both cover and originals, under the label ‘BROKEN GUITAR RECORDS’. World class quality equipments like Epiphone and Fender guitars, Fishman and Fender amplifiers, Shure mics, Hohner harmonicas and Focusrite audio interface are used for the recordings. The company releases its music on international platforms like Spotify and Apple Music regularly.
Vision As A Doctor
“Music is an essential part of life; integral in the development of the whole person. I believe that the opportunity to engage in musical experiences is crucial for the development of the whole child. Learning music develops all aspects of a child’s learning, from the physical action of using an instrument to the mathematical skills needed to keep a pulse. These abilities are directly transferable to other areas of the curriculum, allowing them to flourish, and are invaluable for their future life. Through playing, singing, creating and performing, children develop confidence, communication, thinking and creative skills and improve their emotional well-being. In addition, as these activities utilise both sides of the brain, it helps foster connections which improves memory and coordination. The skills involved in playing and listening to music also help learners develop the self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, creativity, and self-motivation necessary for success.
